Mr. Jeff Mitchell, Reno Bike Project
Participants will learn about the Reno Bike Project. Founded in October 2006, the Reno Bike Project (RBP) has grown from basement bike repair one night a week, to a full cycling community center that advocates cycling growth. RBP was incorporated in December 2006 and received its 501(c)(3) status from the IRS in June 2008. RBP strives to help
transform the greater Reno area into one of the greatest cycling communities in the country. The organization is built around the belief that the bicycle is the world’s greatest, most utilized mode of transportation and that every individual, regardless of age, gender, race, or class has a right to afford, maintain, and enjoy one. Further, RBP believes that the
bicycle is a focal point for cultural and economic growth, capable of inspiring innovation and societal change. RBP achieves its mission by engaging directly with the community as a community resource that encourages daily cycling. It provides the necessary facilities, knowledge, products and services to make cycling easy, affordable, and fun. RBP
believes that strong community partnerships build strong communities and strives to bring people and groups, from all demographics, together to celebrate the bicycle as a resource of enjoyment and sustainable living.

Biography: Jeff Mitchell is a Reno native and a third generation Nevadan. Jeff graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2010 with a degree in Sociology. As an avid cyclist and bicycle commuter, he began volunteering at the Reno Bike Project in 2009, primarily writing grants. Overtime his responsibilities have grown and now he manages RBP’s
many programs, coordinates volunteers, and advocates for cycling as a viable alternative mode of transportation in our community.

Chance to get published!

From the desk of Cheryl Chenault:

Fashionista client anyone?

Reno Magazine has asked me to feature a “DREAM” built in closet for the upcoming September/October issue. The focus is STYLE and we’re looking for a boutique closet with interesting built in features and space saving ideas.

Wondering if anyone has a client or project that would fit this description who would be willing to open up her closet to our cameras. Please call or email me as soon as possible and we can talk about details. Time is of the essence. Clients can remain anonymous, if desired.
